Briana Geraets

Briana grew up in Garretson, South Dakota. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, with a minor in Legal Studies, from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. During undergrad, Briana worked full-time with the North Dakota Legislative Research Council during the 2019 Legislative Session and helped create that year’s North Dakota Blue Book to be used as a future research tool. She went on to law school at the USD Knudson School of Law, graduating in 2024. Briana was active in law school as a graduate assistant for USD Law’s Low Income Tax Clinic and as a board member of the Environmental Law Society. She also was a student ambassador for the law school, and an Access to Justice Pro-Bono Participant, completing over 80 hours of pro-bono work.

Briana was a 2022 Steiger Fellow with the American Bar Association and worked with the North Dakota Office of the Attorney General Antitrust Division. In the summer between her second and third years of law school, Briana interned with Lynn Jackson, continuing to work as a law clerk during her final year of law school. She is focusing her practice of law on civil litigation and family law in the Sioux Falls office. Briana is licensed to practice law in South Dakota.

Briana can be found enjoying her free time with her husband and their cats, going to the gym, and reading. She loves Sioux Falls and everything it has to offer, especially the coffee shops downtown.
